Target is kicking off a new denim event starting in August.

The Minnesota-based retail titan will launch its first "Denim Take Back Event" that runs from August 4-10.

Consumers with used denim, regardless of the condition, can drop off up to five denim items at any Target store and get 20% off a new denim apparel purchase via Target Circle, which can be used on Target-brand denim items, according to a company release.

"Our new Denim Take Back Event is an easy way for families to give their used denim a new life," Gena Fox, Target's senior vice president of merchandising for apparel and accessories, said in a statement in a company release. "With back-to-school and college shopping top of mind for families, we're offering this 20% off Target Circle deal to make it even more affordable for our guests to refresh their denim wardrobes, while also doing our part to reduce waste and keep used denim out of landfills."

Target’s new denim promotion is the latest bargain the retailer has available for consumers this summer.

Earlier this month, the company announced back-to-school and college savings deals for teachers, students, and parents ahead of the upcoming school year.
