Houston shooting: Man killed in carjacking, police investigating

An investigation is now underway following a carjacking in Houston on Wednesday evening. 

Details are limited, but Houston police said the incident occurred in the 3400 block of Simsbrook just before 9 p.m.

Police said it was reported that three men in the park were approached by an unknown number of suspects who attempted to remove them from their vehicles. 

Authorities stated a physical fight began, and the suspects fired shots at the victims.

Two men were shot in the incident. One man was pronounced dead at the scene and the other was taken to the hospital in stable condition, police said. 

Authorities said a white 2004 Expedition was taken during the incident. 

Several witnesses have been detained following the shooting. 

No other details have been released by authorities.
