Happy chilly New Year! We're entering a cool pattern for the next two to three weeks, so find a nice warm jacket and even an umbrella. For the rest of this week, we're looking pretty good. Aside from some drizzles tomorrow, expect a mostly dry, clear pattern with lows in the 40s and highs in the 60s and 70s. Now, the excitement or concern arrives next week. Our primary computer models have been very consistent with several days of cold air dropping into the US with temps of -10° to -20° in the upper Midwest. Some of that cold air will move into Texas and we should expect daily lows near freezing starting Monday with highs in the 40s. What about snow? Yes, there is a good chance for snow or sleet in Texas next week. It's still too early to be excited about snow here in the Houston area, but there's a high enough chance that you should stay weather aware for updates in the days to come.
