NEWS

REPORTER – R50031175

Fulltime, Regular

KRIV FOX 26 / KTXH My20, the FOX Duopoly in HOUSTON, TX is re-imagining how local news is gathered and delivered. We no longer wait for appointed times to deliver content. We're a STREAMING FIRST news organization. As we continue to evolve, we’re hiring a News Reporter with fill-in anchor potential who has a passion for creating content across live streaming news programs, digital news sites, social media platforms and linear news broadcasts.

To be successful in this role, you’ll need to have already evolved your mindset beyond linear television thinking and workflows. You should have a demonstrated track record of executing non-traditional storytelling formats using video, text, graphics and music. The content you create will be designed for our live stream, website and social platforms, with the goal of later repurposing these digital-first formats for linear broadcasts. To boil it down even further: We’re not big on traditional old school TV news packages and we challenge our content creators to tell stories with delivery that is authentic (no "anchor voices") and in ways that are tailored specifically to the platform.

You’ll be a part of our highly successful morning news team, taking ownership of the day’s big stories, in the field and in-studio. While your content will be distributed to digital and social platforms first, on most days you’ll also appear on linear broadcasts and streaming news shows. When key members of our morning news anchor team take time off, you’ll have the opportunity to bring that digital and streaming-first mindset to the anchor desk.

A minimum of 3 years of experience as a reporter and anchor will get you noticed. A reel that demonstrates your ability to shoot, edit and produce content will move you up the list even further. A robust social media footprint, focused primarily on news-related social media content is a non-negotiable must-have.

EXECUTIVE PRODUCER – R50031416

Fulltime, Regular

At FOX26 in Houston, we are re-imagining how local news is gathered and delivered. As a STREAMING FIRST news organization, we are looking for a visionary Morning News Executive Producer to lead our evolution in one of the most dynamic markets in the country.

We aren't looking for a traditional newsroom manager. We want an innovative thinker and a "doer" who possesses the drive to make big ideas happen. If you love to challenge conventional television ideas and have a passion for the future of media, you’ll find a home here.

As our Morning EP, you will own the editorial direction and relentless execution of local news from 4:00 AM to 10:00 AM on our linear broadcast channel. However, your impact goes far beyond TV newscasts. You will also:

  • Prioritize Digital Platforms: Lead content creation and distribution strategy each morning across Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube, ensuring consistent execution by reporters, anchors and digital team members.
  • Seamless Integration: Ensure a smooth handoff to our streaming team at 10:00 AM before shifting focus to long-term planning.
  • Own the Big Moments: Lead the team in owning breaking news, impactful weather, and big local events like Rodeo Houston and FIFA World Cup 2026.
  • Build Connection: Ensure the team and news product remains deeply connected to Houston’s local businesses, non-profits, and community events.

You are a motivator and a connector who thrives on guiding a talented, diverse team toward a common goal. You possess the following skills:

  • Exceptional Leadership: You have a demonstrated ability to lead diverse personalities and workgroups, creating an environment where employees feel comfortable to challenge the status quo and experiment.
  • Mentorship: You are an outstanding communicator who is committed to coaching and mentoring your team, giving them the space to grow their careers.
  • Innovation Champion: You lead newsroom discussions on innovation, including the strategic and ethical use of artificial intelligence.
  • Strategic Collaboration: You effectively "manage-up" to the VP of Content Creation & Distribution, ensuring our strategic initiatives are met with urgency and clarity.

We’re focused on candidates with a minimum of 5 years of newsroom management experience, plus an additional 5 years as a producer. As a leader in a major breaking news and severe weather market, you’ll be expected to be on-site and ready to lead during emergencies, including weekends, late nights, or early mornings.
