Civil rights activists are calling for transparency and accountability in an alleged assault and racial profiling case involving an African American student at Woodridge Forest Middle School in New Caney ISD. The student's mother claims she was threatened by campus police when she attempted to file a report about the November 5, 2024, incident and has been denied access to video evidence of the alleged assault.
The press conference was set to address allegations of assault and racial profiling involving an African American student and his mother.

The incident reportedly occurred on November 5, 2024, when the student claimed he was assaulted by a school staff member while at lunch.

The following day, the student's mother, Ashley Talbert, attempted to file a police report with campus police but was allegedly threatened with repercussions, including being banned from school facilities.
Since the incident, the mother claimed that her sons have been targeted by authorities at the school.
Activists are demanding the release of video evidence related to the incident.
