Sunday also brings the chance for strong to severe storms. As of today, the Storm Prediction Center has outlined the northeastern viewing area in a 2/5 risk for severe weather and the Houston-area at a 1/5 risk.
We have declared Sunday a Storm Alert Day.
The main weather threats will be heavy rain, damaging winds and isolated tornadoes. The strong cold front will sweep through the region on Sunday night, ushering in cold air Monday morning meaning Southeast Texas will wake up to near-freezing temperatures.
Highs will remain in the 40s each day next week. An area of low pressure will bring moisture by the middle and end of the week.
