The Flood Watch has ended for now across Southeast Texas. Expect more rain for Sunday morning with some heavy downpours possible closer to the coast. Another brief round of storms could also arrive in the afternoon on Sunday. But the pattern overall is changing with less rain in the week ahead.
Houston storms cause man's ceiling to cave in
Consecutive weather disasters have taken a toll on a northeast Houston man with the latest round of storms causing his ceiling to collapse. FOX 26's Jade Flury has more after speaking with the man whose kitchen has become unusable.
Flood warning issued for Houston-area rivers, says NWS
Several Houston-area rivers, such as Trinity River and San Jacinto River, are under a Flood Warning until Aug. 1, according to the National Weather Service.

The flood threat continues across SE Texas today. There is a Flood Watch in effect until 1pm. Make sure you clear the storm drains in your neighborhood to help prevent flooded roadways. An additional 1-3”+ is possible today as several round of heavy rain will move from south to north across the viewing area. Rain chances stay elevated on Sunday but they will drop early next week as a big pattern change arrives. Houston will be hot and humid beginning on Monday with highs back to the 90s. Houston weather: Flood threat extends into the weekend
Our weather whiplash continues with crazy weather that has affected Houston all week. Total rain for Houston (Bush Airport) this month has been near 46 inches which is almost 18" above normal!

Tropical Weather Update - Watching new development in Atlantic
A disturbance over the central Atlantic is forecast to move near the Lesser Antilles by the early to middle part of next week. There's a LOW 20% chance for development into a tropical system next week. Saharan dust is starting to get a bit less thick and that could mean more tropical systems getting going in August. Tropical Storm Bud has fallen apart in the eastern Pacific and is now a post-tropical remnant low. Area of low pressure a few hundred miles south of southern Mexico has a 30% chance to develop into a tropical system next week as it moves WNW.

Houston weather: Flash Flood Warnings expired for Harris, Fort Bend County, July 26
Due to heavy rain across the area, Flash Flood Warnings have been put in place for Harris County, Galveston County, and other counties around Houston.

Torrential rainfall happened overnight and continues through this morning for Galveston County and the Baytown area. Upwards of 6-10" of rain has fallen and many roads are flooded. Flash flood warnings are in effect for much of Galveston Co. through at least mid-morning. In addition, scattered downpours will affect Houston, Spring, Tomball, and Cypress (among other spots) through the morning hours. Our latest models are showing that many areas could get a break by late morning or midday. Today and tomorrow are FOX 26 Storm Alert Days due to the continuing chance for at least scattered heavy downpours. Our weather pattern will change next week with hot, humid conditions returning.

Tropical update: Tropical Storm Bud in the Pacific
Tropical Storm "Bud" is a 60 mph system in the eastern Pacific moving west at 14 mph. It is not expected to be a threat to land and should fall apart this weekend. All is still quiet across the Atlantic, Caribbean & Gulf for now with no tropical activity expected for the rest of July. But things could get busy again in August as Saharan dust starts to decrease.
