Tropical Weather Forecast - November 30, 2023
Today wraps up the 2023 hurricane season. No tropical activity is out there today and none is forecast for the next 7 days. We will end up finishing the season with 20 named storms which is above our average of 14 named storms. We ended up with 7 hurricanes and 3 major hurricanes which is right around average. Once again, we did not get hit by any tropical systems across SE Texas all season long. That's something to be thankful for! Hurricane season begins again next year on June 1st.

Tomorrow ends the 2023 hurricane season and it looks like we will likely wrap up the season on a quiet note. There are currently no systems out there in the Atlantic Basin or Eastern Pacific and development is not expected. We will likely finish with 20 named storms, 7 hurricanes and 3 major hurricanes for the Atlantic Basin.

System we were tracking in the Atlantic has fallen apart so all is quiet for now. Caribbean and the Gulf of Mexico are quiet also. Tropical Storm Ramon in the eastern Pacific has lost tropical characteristics and has weakened to a remnant low. There's just a few days left in this year's hurricane season which ends on November 30.

Hurricane season ends in less than a week but there are still a few systems that we are monitoring. A non-tropical low in the east-central Atlantic is moving into much cooler waters and the window for development into a tropical system is quickly closing. Chance for development is now near 0%. In the eastern Pacific, tropical storm Ramon is expected to weaken to a remnant low by Sunday and not impact land. Hurricane season ends November 30th.

With only six days left in the 2023 hurricane season, there's a still a little action out there in the tropics! A non-tropical low in the central Atlantic now only has a low 20% chance for development into a tropical system over the next few days. Chance for this system to become a tropical depression or tropical storm likely ends by Sunday as it moves into colder waters. Tropical Depression Twenty-E in the eastern Pacific has 35 mph winds and is expected to remain fairly weak & lose tropical characteristics. Hurricane season ends November 30th.

The Thanksgiving tropical update is fairly quiet in the Atlantic Basin. There is still an area of low pressure in the Atlantic that is being watched for further development but won't happen for a couple more days.

Invest 99L in the central Caribbean is no longer a threat to become a tropical cyclone. There is a area of low pressure in the Atlantic that could be interested in claiming the name Vince.

Hurricane season is winding down but there's still some action in the Atlantic and Caribbean. Invest 99-L in the central Caribbean is not looking very organized now and there's only a low 10% chance it will develop into a tropical system as it drifts west. Disturbance in the central Atlantic has a decent chance of becoming a tropical depression or tropical storm over the next week. But it is moving away from the United States and is not expected to impact land. Hurricane season ends on November 30.
