New Orleans attack: FBI Houston, HCSO conduct investigation at storage facility

FBI Houston confirms that a "court-authorized law enforcement activity" was conducted at a storage facility on Monday night in relation to the New Orleans attack.

The operation was conducted in the 11900 block of Walters Road, about a mile away from Shamsud-Din Jabbar’s Houston-area home.

The FBI did not say what they were looking for but said "there was, and is, no threat to public safety at this time in relation to that activity."

The scene was cleared around midnight.

The FBI and the Harris County Sheriff's Office conduct an investigation on Walters Road.

14 killed in New Orleans Bourbon Street attack

Fourteen people were killed and dozens more were injured when Jabbar intentionally drove down Bourbon Street early New Year's morning, authorities say.

Once Jabbar crashed, he opened fire on officers, police said. Two officers were struck and taken to the hospital in stable condition.

Authorities say officers returned fire, and Jabbar died at the scene.

According to the FBI, the attack was determined to be an act of terrorism, and Jabbar had posted videos to social media declaring support for ISIS.
