It looks like the Houston area will mainly get chilly rain with possibly a little sleet mixed in Thursday through Friday morning. An increase in clouds can be expected on Wednesday with only a slim shot for rain during the day.
Widespread rain will overtake the Houston area Thursday with some heavy downpours likely lasting through Friday morning. A little sleet could briefly mix with the rain, but no major ice or snow is expected on Houston roads.
Thursday through Friday morning are now FOX 26 Storm Alert Days due to the risk for 1 to 3 inches of rain and some street flooding. Rain should push out by Friday afternoon and evening. But temperatures will still remain on the chilly side. Look for highs in the low to middle 40s Wednesday through Friday with overnight lows in the 30s.
A warming trend is expected this weekend, with high temperatures near 60 by Sunday. Slim rain chances will return Sunday and stick around through Tuesday.
