Houston police chase: Suspect arrested after crashing into two separate cars, found with alcohol
HOUSTON - A man is in custody following a brief police chase with the Houston Police Department ended in two separate car crashes on Thursday night.
HPD Lieutenant Riley reports officers were called to the intersection of South Gessner and Richmond to investigate a reported accident.
When they arrived, officers found a male suspect in a vehicle with an open container and detected a strong odor of alcohol. When officers attempted to detain the man, he fled the scene in his vehicle, which led to a pursuit.

When the suspect got into the intersection of Rogerdale and Westheimer, his vehicle collided with another car. No injuries were reported in this first collision. However, the chase continued, and the suspect hit a second car at the intersection of Westheimer and Briarpark.
Both vehicles involved became disabled. Those in the second vehicle were taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect was taken into custody at the scene and also taken to a local hospital in stable condition.

During the investigation, police found a firearm and open containers of alcohol in the suspect’s vehicle. Charges against the suspect are pending further investigation.
