Gas station owner killed after he left store with bank deposits in 5th ward
HOUSTON, TX - Investigators say a gas station owner is dead after being jumped and then shot several times around midnight on Friday. The violent attack happened in the 3800 block of Liberty Road in Houston's Fifth Ward.
The owner was leaving for the day, with the store's bank deposits, when he was attacked. Authorities say that he appeared to be walking out of his store to his vehicle when he was approached by a man with a gun. An altercation began, and the man was shot by the suspect. At this time, we don't know how much money the suspect got away with. Police are still investigating the incident, and did arrest one man at the scene as a person of interest.
