Two 16-year-old boys have been arrested and charged with murder and aggravated assault for a deadly shooting that happened in northeast Houston just before 6 p.m. on Dec. 13.

Police say a woman, 45-year-old Faridah Davis, was out with her husband that evening when she was shot and killed.

When police arrived at a convenience store at 4718 Lockwood Drive, they found Davis unresponsive in the driver's seat of a vehicle with a gunshot wound. She was taken to the hospital where she later died.

What we know

Detectives learned Davis drove to the store with her husband in the passenger seat. Her husband went into the store and an employee asked him to leave. When he got back into the vehicle, shots were fired into the vehicle as it was pulling out of the parking lot.

The vehicle rolled a short distance and stopped. The husband got out of the vehicle and ran from the scene. A second shooter fired shots at the husband.

Both shooters ran from the scene.

The husband and two other family members, who were in the backseat of the vehicle, were not injured.
