FEMA grant helps elevate and save homes from floodwaters

NASSAU BAY, Texas - A lot of people want to live in the small city of Nassau Bay because of its prime location on Clear Lake, but the price you pay for living that close to the water can be steep.

City officials recently discovered a little known FEMA grant to help counteract this.

Fox 26 photojournalist Darlene Janik Faires shows us how it works.

If you qualify for the grant, FEMA will pay anywhere from 75 percent to 100 percent of the cost.
