Get outside H-Town! Our stretch of beautiful and sunny weather will continue through the weekend. Air quality alert for higher ozone levels will really be the only issue Friday. Loads of sunshine, pleasant mornings and warm afternoons will be the rule for the next several days. As temperatures start to heat up early next week, our next cold front should arrive just in time to give us another taste of fall. Milton has exited Florida and become post-tropical. But there are still millions without power in Florida and several areas with wind and flood damage. No other tropical systems are expected to impact the U.S. over the next few days.

Post-tropical cyclone Milton moves from Florida

Post-Tropical Cyclone Milton is now moving away from Florida into the Atlantic. It has lost tropical characteristics but still has strong winds. It caused over 3 million power outages across Florida, produced a big tornado outbreak in central & south Florida and dumped more than a foot of rain! There's still the threat for some storm surge and gusty winds through early evening for parts of the SE U.S. coast. But overall, conditions will be improving for Florida tonight. Tropical Storm Leslie in the Central Atlantic is still expected to track NE away from the United States and gradually weaken. Invest 94-L in the far east Atlantic has a low 20% chance to become our next tropical system. The next name would be Nadine

Milton brings tornado outbreak | Fox 26 Houston Weather Forecast

Milton made landfall as a CAT 3 hurricane Wednesday evening near Siesta Key, FL. I’m it’s wake, it left more than a foot of rain extending from Tampa to Daytona beach, very strong winds and before the storm even made landfall there was a tornado outbreak. I’m south and central Florida, there have been more than 30 confirmed tornadoes and a record number of tornado warnings for one day. Milton had already moved into the Atlantic but Milton’s impacts will be felt along the Atlantic coast of Florida through midday. SE Texas has dry air overhead keeping pleasant morning temperatures in store for the next several days. Afternoon highs will reach the low-90s today and soar to the mid-90s this weekend. Another weak front moves across the region early next week, so get ready for cooler weather!
