I-75 may close due to possible flooding from Hurricane Irma

The Santa Fe River under I-75 has rapidly risen 15 feet within the past 36 hours due to the heavy rainfall over North Florida from Hurricane Irma. In the event that I-75 closes, please see the attached detour map.

GDOT to restore normal traffic on I-16 this afternoon

If you're planning to drive to Savannah Saturday morning on I-16, you won't be able to.  The Georgia Department of Transportation is reversing the East bound lanes starting at 8:00 am.  

2 law enforcement officials killed in Hardee County crash

The Florida Highway Patrol says two people have died in a head-on crash in a county where Hurricane Irma's wind and rain have started to blow in. Agency spokesman Greg Bueno said the crash happened Sunday morning in Hardee County, which is southeast of Tampa. It wasn't immediately clear what role the weather may have played. Northbound Beltway 8 lanes reopen, sinkhole discovered

On any normal day, heavy traffic along any Houston-area highways at rush hour is just a given. However, Thursday traffic along the northbound lanes of Beltway 8 near Memorial Drive was welcome. It was the first time that drivers could use this part of the Sam Houston Tollway since Harvey flooded the west side of Houston.

With this suspension,Texans who residei n affected counties can avoid penalties for failure to timely register a vehicle, obtain a vehicle inspection, or transfer title to a vehicle.

METRO resumes limited services on Thursday

Limited METRO local bus routes will resume Thursday, Aug. 31. There will also be limited METRORail service on the Red Line from Fannin South Station to Downtown Transit Center. Bus shuttles will provide transportation along the line from Downtown Transit Center to Northline Transit Center. Red Line service will be running every 15 minutes. 

Controlled release from Addicks, Barker reservoirs begin

Harris County Flood Control District meteorologist Jeff Lindner announced during a news conference on Sunday night that a controlled release will be conducted for the Addicks Reservoir. The process will likely add more water to already-flooded roads, but is intended to prevent flooding into residential neighborhoods. The same process is likely to take place for the Barker Reservoir.

Hobby airport closed, flights delayed or cancelled at IAH

Flights out of and into both Bush Intercontinental and William P. Hobby airports were affected by Harvey on Friday and Saturday, while all flights out of Corpus Christi International Airport were canceled with no scheduled United or Southwest airlines flights until Monday. American Airlines is hoping to resume service on Saturday.
