Trio attack, rob woman in diner; suspect arrested
NEW YORK (FOX5NY) - A day after the NYPD released security camera footage of three people wanted for brutally attacking a woman inside a Manhattan diner, police announced the arrest of one suspect.
A 23-year-old woman had a dispute with another woman and two men at about 4:40 a.m. Sunday in Good Stuff Diner on West 14th Street, police said. The 23-year-old used her phone to record video of the three people, who then attacked her, police said.
One man grabbed the woman's phone and punched her in the face, the NYPD said.
Another man—described as bald and bearded and wearing a gray shirt, white sneakers, and denim shorts—then choked the victim until she was unconscious and threw her to the floor, police said.
A black woman with blonde hair and wearing a pink baseball hat, white shoes, and gray sweatpants also punched the victim in the face, police said.
On Wednesday, the police said the man who is accused of grabbing the woman's phone turned himself in. Authorities charged Caswell Senior, 31, of Brooklyn, with robbery.
The victim suffered cuts to her chin, a swollen lip, and bleeding from her mouth. Her condition was unknown.
If you recognize any of the people in the video and still images, you can contact NYPD Crime Stoppers at 800-577-8477 (English) or 888-577-4782 (Español) or at www.nypdcrimestoppers.com. Police said that all calls are confidential.
