The Imani School helps flood victims
HOUSTON (FOX 26) - Students at The Imani School have joined in the effort to help people who were directly affected by the Houston-area floods on Tax Day 2016. After those students collected toiletries, diapers, clothing, water and cleaning supplies, they loaded them onto a truck provided by Harris County Precinct 1.
"Our children were so concerned about their neighbors and the things they had seen on the news," explains Patricia Hogan Williams, head of The Imani School. "So this was an opportunity for them not to only understand our faith intellectually, but to actually activate their faith by becoming God's presence in the community and learning servanthood. Leadership and servanthood at the same time.
The Precinct 1 Constable's Office will distribute the collected items.
