Rockets, Dekker close to contract agreement
The Houston Rockets are close to a contract agreement with forward Sam Dekker, their first-round pick (18th overall) from Wisconsin.
Dekker's agent, Mark Bartelstein, told FOX 26 Sports the two sides are "working through details" and a deal could be reached this week.
At the 18th-spot in the first round, Dekker is expected to get guaranteed money of around $3.366 million over the first two years of the contract, with the deal including two team options for years three and four as well.
Dekker helped lead Wisconsin to the Final Four the past two years, with the Badgers losing to Duke in the NCAA championship game in April.
In three years at Wisconsin Dekker, 6-9, 230, averaged 12.1 points, five rebounds and 1.3 assists per game.
