Friendswood H-E-B theft investigation leads to recovery of 400 bottles of stolen wine

Two men have been charged with stealing more than 400 bottles of wine after an investigation into a robbery at a Friendswood grocery store linked the men to other thefts in the area.

Michael Diaz, 42, and 42-year-old Juan Carlos Rosa-Torres have each been charged with theft. Torres was also charged with evading after leading Katy police on a chase.

Friendswood police investigated a wine theft at H-E-B that happened Saturday. Police said they were able to link the duo to other wine thefts in the area after reviewing security footage.

Officers were able to locate the men in Katy where Katy police located the pair's vehicle.

The men led Katy police on a chase that ended in an arrest. 

Police said they located 498 bottles of wine stolen from various stores.

The men were booked in the Fort Bend County jail.
