Neighborhood was on lockdown after deputy shooting
FOX 26's Leslie DelasBour spoke to residents in a neighborhood that was put on lockdown Wednesday after a Brazoria County sheriff's deputy was killed near Stella Link Road.
HOUSTON - Richard Bright described the scene in his neighborhood as surreal while multiple law enforcement agencies searched for Robert Lee Davis, the gunman who killed Brazoria County Sheriff's Deputy Jesus Vargas.
"I kept thinking, man is he back there, because they were gone for a while," Bright said.

Brazoria County Deputy shooting: Officers' demeanor was quiet and serious while searching
"So I opened the gate, and I get to right here in my car, and I look up, and 12 or 13 of those officers were coming around those palm trees. I'm right here and I said, 'do y'all want to go in and check?' and they said, ‘yes, absolutely. Thank you so much.’ They were very kind," Bright said.
Bright says that he has working cameras around his home, but now he wonders if he has enough.
He adds that officers were in his backyard for a while, so he eventually became concerned.
What they're saying:
"One of the officers I was talking to says, and what makes this even harder is, that he was a part of my team. The officer that was deceased he goes, he's part of the Brazoria team, and we are Brazoria," Bright added. "I knew they were going to find him, and one of the guys from Brazoria was like, ‘we always find them, we always do.’"
