HARRIS COUNTY, Texas - Harris County Sheriff's Office investigators are trying to determine if a deadly shooting on Thursday morning was murder or self-defense.
Constable deputies with Harris County Precinct 4 Constable Office were called to a home in the 5700 block of Pebble Springs Drive around 1 a.m. Thursday, after a reported shooting.
When they arrived with EMS, they found a man unresponsive with multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Several teenagers were found inside the home, but the suspect—identified as the victim’s stepson—was not present. Initial reports say the stepson has recently been kicked out of the house and returned that night.
According to investigators, the suspect had been inside the home when an argument erupted between him and his stepfather. During the confrontation, the stepson allegedly shot the victim multiple times before leaving the home with one or two other individuals.
The teenage children were later released to relatives who arrived at the scene.
Authorities are working to locate the suspect to hear his version of the events and determine whether the shooting was murder or self-defense.

Homicide investigators executed a search warrant and worked with crime scene units to collect evidence. The victim’s body was taken by the Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy, which is expected to confirm the cause and manner of death.
