New Orleans attack: FBI establishes victim support services for Bourbon Street attack
NEW ORLEANS - The FBI announced expanded efforts to help victims and families affected by the New Year's Day terrorist attack on Bourbon Street, which left 14 people dead. FBI victim specialists are actively working to provide resources and support to those impacted by the tragedy.
To centralize assistance, the FBI is working with local, state, and federal partners to open a Family Assistance Center (FAC) at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church, located at 5621 Elysian Fields Avenue in New Orleans.

The FAC will open its doors on Sunday, Jan. 5, from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m., and will begin regular operations from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. starting Monday, Jan. 6. Services at the center will include in-person information, support, and the recovery of personal belongings left at the attack scene.

In addition, the FBI has launched a victim resource page, allowing victims to complete a seeking victim form and receive follow-up from victim specialists.

The FBI’s Victim Services Division (VSD) is leading the efforts, deploying its Victim Services Response Team (VSRT) to New Orleans.
