MLK Boulevard shooting: Houston police search for second suspect
HOUSTON - Houston police are searching for another suspect connected to a shooting on Dec. 20, 2024 in southeast Houston.
Around 7 p.m., officers responded to reports of an assault at a convenience store at 8118 Martin Luther King Boulevard where they found a 40-year-old man on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital in stable condition.

According to Houston Police Department detectives, the victim had been involved in an altercation with two suspects which escalated into a physical fight. One of the suspects shot the victim and both left the scene before police arrived.
One suspect, 24-year-old Darius Michael White, was arrested on New Year's Eve on an unrelated charge. Authorities say further investigation connected him to the MLK Boulevard shooting and he was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

HPD is searching for a second suspect described as a Black male between 30 and 40-years-old, with a thin build and a low haircut, and is known to ride a bicycle in the area.
Authorities are urging anyone with information about the identity or whereabouts of the second suspect to contact the HPD Major Assaults Division at 713-308-8800 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
