Harris County: Man with ninja star allegedly tried to board school bus, offered Uber rides
HOUSTON - A man was arrested in northern Harris County Friday morning after he allegedly tried board a Spring ISD school bus.

What we know:
Deputies responded to the 15300 block of Walters Road at about 9:30 a.m. on Friday. According to Precinct 4 Constable Mark Herman, a man was trying to get onto a school with children on board and offer Uber rides. The suspect then allegedly tried to take a child off of the bus.
Constable Herman says the suspect was armed with a "ninja star." He also has an open warrant out of Harris County.
Spring ISD responded to the incident, according to Constable Herman.

Spring ISD sent the following statement to FOX 26:
Spring ISD is aware of an incident this morning at a bus stop involving an unknown male who approached a district bus shortly after students boarded. The individual spoke to the bus driver and asked for a ride, however, our driver denied the request and drove off. Harris County Precinct 4 officers responded to the scene and the individual was arrested.
We are aware of a social media post that implies that the individual attempted to remove a student from the bus. That has turned out to be unfounded and is not true. At no point did the individual attempt to remove a student from the bus. As always, Spring ISD prioritizes the safety and security of our students.
What we don't know:
Officials have not named the suspect.
