What we know:

On Wednesday, police announced the arrest of 22-year-old Jrdon Mykel Joe. He has been charged with murder for the death of 23-year-old Christian Segundo.

Officials say Joe was arrested on Tuesday without incident by the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force. He is now booked in the Harris County Jail.

July 2024 shooting

The backstory:

The shooting was initially reported just before 12:30 a.m. on July 12, 2024. Officers were dispatched to a tow lot on the North Freeway where they found Christian Segundo in the parking lot with gunshot wounds.

Paramedics later pronounced Segundo deceased at the scene.

Police say there was an argument about a vehicle when multiple suspects pulled out guns and shot Segundo. The suspects fled the scene before officials arrived.

Surveillance photos from police showed four suspects accused of the shooting. Officials also released an image of a wanted vehicle described as a gray Toyota RAV 4.

What they're saying:

Christian Segundo's family spoke with FOX 26 reporter Jade Flury weeks after his death. They said he was a hard worker and a loving young man who had his whole life ahead of him.

Segundo leaves behind two young children.

"He was always helping. He would help a total stranger. So the people he loved and were in his inner circle, he would do anything for," said Marselina Ramirez, Segundo's mother.

"My sister-in-law can’t help but cry as she’s holding her child, as he’s leaning over my brother’s casket. You can’t help but cry. How can you not cry at that," said Selenda Gonzalez, Christian's sister.
