5th Annual Afro-Latin Fest in Houston

The 5th Annual Afro-Latin Fest will take place from Thursday, July 26 until Sunday, July 29 at the Crowne Plaza River Oaks on 2712 Southwest Freeway. Special guests will include talent and panelists from Cuba, Honduras, Venezuela, Colombia, Nigeria, Brazil, Mexico, Panama and Jamaica.

As part of the inaugural concert series for Afro-Latin Fest on the nights of July 27 and 28, musical guests will include Bobby Lyle, Diunna Greenleaf, Manolo Mairena, Jewel Brown, Tweed Smith, Los Hijos del Son, Jorge Orta y su Tumbaká, Caporales San Simón, Danza Aquetzalli, El Gato Volador and DJ Franky.

FOX 26 News anchor Jose Griñan will serve as host of Afro-Latin Fest.

Proceeds from this event benefit FLAMART community programs. The 501(c)(3) non-profit organization provides free monthly dance classes to the public that "promote health, physical activity and unity, through culturally artistic activities."

Ticket prices for the four-day event range from complimentary to $300 with the panel discussion included with reserved tickets.
