How likely is it that the Texas House will pay a school choice bill? Many believe it won't happen because of the current dispute over the Paxton trial between the Senate and the House, specifically between Lt. Governor Dan Patrick and House Speaker Dade Phelan.

Texas House Speaker Dade Phelan called out the Lt. Governor in what amounts to a very public accusation that the "fix was in" for an acquittal of Attorney General Ken Paxton during his impeachment trial before the Senate.

Speaking to KDFM in his hometown of Beaumont, Phelan stood by the house assessment that Paxton abused his power and should be excluded from holding office.
