Weather update: Tropical Depression Three; Excessive Heat Warning for SE Texas
**PREVIOUS WEATHER UPDATE: FOX 26 Chief Meteorologist Mike Iscovitz shares an update on Tropical Depression Three in the central Atlantic Ocean, as well as on the excessive heat warning that continues in Southeast Texas for the fourth day.
Tropical Storm Bret has officially formed in the central Atlantic Ocean.
As of the 4 p.m. update from the National Hurricane Center, Bret has sustained winds of 40 miles per hour and is moving west at 21 miles per hour.
This is a bit of an unusual location for a storm to form in the month of June, but the water temperatures in the Atlantic are unusually warm for this time of the year.

The system is very likely to get upgraded and may even become Hurricane Bret later this week.
