Houston weather: Winter weather for Southeast Texas, freeze warning for the area

Freeze Warning
The National Weather Service has issued a Freeze Warning for the following counties to be in effect from midnight Sunday to 9 a.m. on Monday:
Montgomery, Northern Liberty, Polk, San Jacinto, Southern Liberty, and Walker County.
Wind Advisory
A Wind Advisory is in effect through midnight for several counties in the Houston-area.
Tornado Watch
The National Weather Service has expired the tornado watches initially issued for several counties until 6 p.m.
Severe Thunderstorm Warning
The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning in Galveston County and Brazoria County until 4 p.m. The storm has weakened.
A strong thunderstorm was being tracked near Spring, moving northeast at 45 mph around 1:30 p.m.
Winter Weather
We are monitoring a winter weather storm that is going to be moving across 25 states over the next day or so. An area of low pressure and trailing front is bringing the potential for some strong to severe storms to Southeast Texas today.
The line of storms is going to be moving into the northwestern viewing area as early as 10:30 or 11 a.m., but then likely to make its way through Houston through about midday.
Later in the afternoon there will be a potential for some rotating thunderstorms. There will be heavy rain, lightning, and strong wind gusts. There will be a potential for an isolated tornado.

As soon as the front rolls through, the temperatures will quickly drop, going from the mid-70s as highs today, dropping to the 40s by 11 p.m.
When you wake up on Monday morning, the temperatures will be in the upper 20ss from Huntsville to Tomball, Columbus and Cold Spring. It will be near freezing in Houston.

There will be winds moving in and they will be blustery. There will be sustained winds of 15 to 20 mph, but gusts could be up to 30 mph. With the winds, it will feel like temperatures will be in the teens and 20s.
A freeze warning has been issued from midnight tonight until 9 a.m. Monday. A cold weather advisory has been issued from midnight tonight until 11 a.m. Monday.
Make sure that you dress in layers, bring your pets inside and cover any sensitive plants. Next week, you can expect highs in the 40s and lows near freezing. The chance of wintery precipitation is very low, but we are watching how things will develop towards the end of the week when a coastal low approaches.
