HOUSTON - Several weather alerts affected southeast Texas, as Nicholas moved through the area.
Heavy downpours could bring flash flooding to some areas. Along the coast, storm surge was reported.
The weather conditions also affected the water levels in Houston-area rivers, bayous and creeks, with up to 14 of them reported out of their banks.
Rio Villa in the lower San Jacinto River hit 6.4 feet of storm surge as south-southwestern winds push the surge up the river.
At the mouth of Clear Lake to Galveston Bay, where flooding has been reported, it peaked at 6.13 feet and is now falling.

The Harris County Flood Control District reports the following bank channels reporting flooding possible:
