Houston weather: Warm week ahead

It is Groundhog Day! Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow and has predicted six more weeks of winter.

Here in Houston, much warmer 'spring-like' temperatures are on the horizon for the first full week of February. However, Punxsutawney Phil's winter prognoses have only been right about 39% of the time.

Foggy morning

What we know:

Most of the FOX 26 viewing area saw Dense Fog Advisories Sunday morning. Fog will be likely again Monday morning. Visibilities could be down to a quarter mile or less in some locations.

A friendly reminder, if you drive through fog, slow down and use your low beam headlights.

Warm week ahead in Houston

What's next:

Forecast highs will soar to the upper-70s and low 80s for most of this week. You can expect clouds at times, but overall we will have mild mornings with warm afternoons.

Rain chances still remain pretty low for this upcoming week, but we could see our next front possible next week.
