Houston weather: New Year's Eve cold front; subfreezing temps possible next week
HOUSTON - After three rounds of severe weather in only five days, this week looks quiet.
Temperatures will be spring-like Monday with highs near 80, but this will be the warmest day for a while.
Cold front for New Year's Eve
A cold front tonight will knock about a dozen degrees off the temps, so it will feel seasonably cool for New Year's Eve and the first day of 2025.
Subfreezing temps possible next week
We're not certain yet, but it looks like a shot of very cold air will drop out of Canada next week, bringing widespread temps below zero for the upper plains and Midwest states. It could affect Texas as well.
Just keep in the back of your mind that subfreezing temperatures are possible by the middle of next week.
6 tornadoes confirmed Saturday
As far as Saturday's round of tornadoes, the National Weather Service found a total of six confirmed tornadoes, with two rated as rare EF-3 and a deadly EF-2.
SUGGESTED: At least 6 tornadoes touched down Saturday, NWS confirms
No severe weather is expected within the next week.
