Houston weather forecast for New Year's Eve 2024

HOUSTON - After some of the worst fog you'll ever see overnight, we have turned the corner toward a breezy, sunny and cooler New Year's Eve with highs in the upper 60s.

If you have plans to be outdoors tonight, dress for chilly weather because temps will drop to around 50° with a light breeze making it feel cooler.

New Year's Day and the week ahead

New Year's Day will be mostly sunny and cool with highs only in the low to mid 60s.

The rest of the week will stay on the cool side with showers on Thursday, then again on Sunday.

Look ahead at next week

Now, we are still looking for a shot of colder air next week. It's still unclear (due to model variation) how cold it will get, but let's prepare for lows in the 20s and 30s with highs stuck below 40° by the middle of next week.
