Houston weather: Flood watch, rain forecast for Friday, May 3

Showers and storms continue to move across the northern portion of our viewing area on Friday.

In addition to the heavy rain and flooding potential, strong wind gusts and small hail are possible.

Flooding in Houston: When will the rivers peak?

Showers and storms continue to move across the northern portion of our viewing area this morning. A Flash Flood Warning is in effect in portions of Harris, Montgomery and Liberty Counties until 8am. 2-3" of rain has already fallen this morning and an additional1-2" is possible.

Weather Alerts

A Flash Flood Warning has been issued for North Central Montgomery County, Southwestern Polk County, San Jacinto County, and Southeastern Walker County until 4:15 p.m.

A Flash Flood Warning has been issued for Northeastern Harris County, West Central Liberty County and Southeastern Montgomery County until 3:30 p.m.

A Flash Flood Warning has been issued for Northeastern Grimes County, Southwestern Houston County, Eastern Madison County, Northwestern Polk County, Northwestern San Jacinto County, Southern Trinity County and Central Walker County until 3 p.m.

A Flash Flood Warning has been issued for Northwestern Liberty County, Central Montgomery County and Southwestern San Jacinto County until 1:30 p.m.

A Flash Flood Warning has been issued for North Central Montgomery County, Southern Polk County, North San Jacinto County and Southeastern Walker County until 1 p.m.

A flood watch remains in effect until 7 p.m. Friday for Brazos, Burleson, Coastal Harris, Grimes, Houston, Inland  Harris, Madison, Montgomery, Northern Liberty, Polk, San Jacinto,  Southern Liberty, Trinity, Walker, Waller and Washington counties.
