LIVE UPDATES: 1 killed, more injured as tornadoes, storms move through Southeast Texas

Saturday is a FOX 26 Storm Alert Day as we are tracking severe weather in the area.

Officials have confirmed at least one person was killed in Saturday's storms.

A tornado warning has come to an end in Liberty County.

A severe thunderstorm warning was issued for Liberty County until 4:15 p.m.

The Tornado Warning for Chambers County has now come to an end.

Brazoria County officials confirm to FOX 26 that at least four people were injured in Saturday's storm, in addition to the death.

3:05 p.m.

The American Red Cross has sent teams to Waller County and Montgomery County to assess the damage left behind and help people who need it.

2:56 p.m.

A tornado warning in Chambers County is expected to remain in effect until 3:15 p.m.

2:52 p.m.

Manvel Mayor Dan Davis says one person was killed in today's storms.

It is the first reported death in the series of tornado-warned storms moving through southeast Texas on Saturday.

2:45 p.m.

The Brazoria County Sheriff's Office says a tornado touched down in the area between Liverpool and Hillcrest Village. 

They are asking people to avoid the area. SH 35 from FM 2403 south to CR 192 is closed and CR 191 from CR 172 to SH 35 is closed.

2:31 p.m.

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for Harris and Montgomery County until 3 p.m.

2:18 p.m.

A new Tornado Warning has been issued in Chambers County until 3 p.m.

2:16 p.m.

All active warnings in the area have expired. Tornado Watches are still in effect.

2:07 p.m.

We are getting several pictures and video of storm damage across southeast Texas.

Walt Disney Elementary School in Alvin was one of the places that saw damage.

2:00 p.m.

Galveston County's Tornado Warning has expired.

A Tornado Watch is still in effect for much of the area until 5 p.m.

1:52 p.m.

Areas in the eastern portions of Montgomery County have sustained heavy damage, according to the county's office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management.

An emergency operations center has been activated to offer support for first responders.

1:35 p.m.

We are now beginning to see some of the damage left behind by the storms in southeast Texas.

The storm has now moved out of Brazoria County. 

Galveston County is still under a tornado warning until 2 p.m.

1:25 p.m.

Reports say that some homes have been damaged in Brazoria County.

A tornado warning is in effect until 2 p.m.

All eyes now turn to Galveston and Brazoria counties where tornado warnings will continue until 1:30 p.m.

The National Weather Service says a tornado has been spotted over Hillcrest.

A confirmed tornado was located in the area of Liverpool and Alvin, according to the National Weather Service.

A new tornado warning has been issued for Galveston and Brazoria counties until 1:30 p.m.

A tornado warning has been issued for Montgomery, Liberty and Harris counties until 1:15 p.m.

A ground stop has now been issued at Bush Airport. It will likely continue until 1:15 p.m.

12:12 p.m.

It is one of the busiest travel weekends of the year and the weather is causing delays.

A new Tornado Warning has been issued until 12:45 p.m.

11:52 a.m.

FOX 26 viewers are sending in photos and videos of the storms. 

11:30 a.m.

A new Tornado Warning has been issued, and it now includes parts of Harris County and Montgomery County.

11:28 a.m.

The conditions at SH 249 and Alice at 11:25 a.m.

You can barely see police lights in the distance.

11:21 a.m.

Tomball, Spring and The Woodlands are all in the direction of the tornado-warned storm.

11:10 a.m.

The National Weather Service says the public spotted a possible tornado over Cypress moving northeast at 30 mph. There was a report that it touched down near Highway 290 and Spring Cypress Road at 10:55 a.m.

11:00 a.m.

A new tornado warning has been issued that will stay in effect until 11:30 a.m.

10:47 a.m.

A Tornado Warning has been issued for Harris County and Waller County until 11 a.m.

Forecast

A cold front starts to sweep across SE Texas, we will be seeing the chance for heavy rain, large hail, strong winds, and we are not ruling out the chance for a tornado. 

The highest risk is the heavy rain. 

A Tornado Watch has been expanded across southeast Texas until 5 p.m.

The severe threat will shift east later this evening, so you can expect much quieter skies tonight.
