Nearly a third of flood mitigation projects won't be built

In 2018, the people of Harris County made an unprecedented investment in protecting our community from rising water by approving a $5.2 billion bond, recently revealed that nearly a third of the flood mitigation projects approved by voters will not be built. What's worse, it's become clear to many experts that projects completed or underway were prioritized by social equity rather than hydraulic efficacy.
