Houston weather: Dec. 26 morning forecast

More severe weather is on the way! Today is a Fox 26 Storm Alert Day and that means we need to be extra aware beginning late this morning through the late part of the afternoon for the potential for heavy rain, lots of lightning, and even the chance for damaging winds and hail with some of the stronger storms. A severe thunderstorm watch may be issued across the area at some point today to alert you for the potential for severe weather, and individual warnings are likely to be issued for severe storms that do form later today. Once we get past today, tonight brings the chance for some fog and tomorrow looks pretty quiet. On Saturday, there will be a slight chance for showers early in the day followed by a quiet pattern to wrap up 2024 and head into the year 2025 on a cool note with New Year’s Eve temperatures likely in the 40s.
