We continue to move through the holiday season with another weekend upon us in the Houston area. Get ready for some big changes with this weekend's weather, including a significant chance for widespread rain! A few showers will start pushing back into Southeast Texas tonight with rain becoming more widespread through the day Saturday. Best chance for rain is expected on Sunday with a 80% chance for showers and a few rumbles of thunder. Rain could be heavy at times Sunday with the heaviest rain expected to the east. Overall, the street flooding risk this weekend has gotten much lower but expect the potential for a few flooded roads. Rain totals will likely end up being anywhere from a trace up to 1 inch. Saturday will start off in the 40s with temperatures only climbing to the upper 50s by Saturday afternoon. Much warmer weather returns Sunday and Monday with temperatures climbing to the seventies. This warm up will be brief as another cold front will dive into the Houston area Tuesday knocking temperatures back down for the middle of next week.
