Cooler air today will be followed by even colder air tonight and Friday morning. Look for a mainly dry start Friday with temperatures in the low 40s for Houston. Wind chills will be in the 30s so bundle up! Spotty showers will build back in Friday afternoon and evening with widespread rain returning Saturday. Heaviest rain is expected Sunday, especially for Houston and areas east of Houston. Models are showing the chance for 2-3" of rain this weekend. This will lead to a risk for some flooded streets particularly for the eastern half of the area. Houston is under a 1/4 Marginal risk for flooding Saturday with a 2/4 risk just east of Houston Sunday. Plan ahead for heavy rain this weekend and have a backup plan for outdoor holiday events.
