Francine has lost tropical characteristics near Memphis. It will still dump heavy rain and be a big flood threat for parts of the SE U.S. the next few days. Houston will continue to dry out and brighten up with only a 10% chance for rain the rest of this week. Look for late summer heat to build in with mainly quiet weather for your weekend plans. Tropical Depression 7 in the central Atlantic is expected to become Hurricane Gordon soon but is not a threat to land for now.
