FOX 26 Houston Weather Forecast
Alberto, our first tropical storm of the 2024 Atlantic hurricane season, continues to bring waves of heavy rain, gusty winds, and coastal flooding to southeast Texas. The Flood Watch continues south of Houston until 1 a.m. Thursday. Coastal Flood Warning, Wind Advisory & high rip currents risk will stick around through early Thursday also. Storm surge around 2-4' can be expected around high tide which could mean more flooded roads along the coast. T.S. Alberto will make landfall by early Thursday in eastern Mexico taking much of the heavy rain and strong winds west by Thursday and Friday. Lower rain chances stick around for the weekend. We'll have to monitor the SW Gulf of Mexico again next week as another tropical system could form that would enhance our rain chances.
