Houston Weather: Brief break from storms Saturday before heavy rain and flooding risk next week
We are finally getting a break from the severe storms and heavy downpours. But it won't last for long! Look for one more hot and mainly dry day Saturday with high temperatures in the middle to upper 90s. Then tropical moisture will start to build in from the south. We are closely monitoring a disturbance in the southern Gulf of Mexico that now has a MEDIUM 50% chance to turn into our first tropical depression or storm of the season. It should stay to our south but moisture will increase, especially Sunday through next Thursday. Heavy downpours will become more likely which could cause some flooding issues. Temperatures will be a bit cooler next week with more clouds and rain. Check out our FOX 26 weather app and FOX Local to get the latest on weather where you live!
