FOX 26 Houston Weather Forecast
Look for a few strong storms possibly grazing our NW counties tonight, especially from College Station to Brenham. Storms should weaken though before reaching Houston. Otherwise, storm chances remain very low through the holiday weekend but the heat will be increasing. Look for high temperatures in the middle to upper 90s with dangerous heat index values around 105 to 110. That means the first heat advisories of the year will likely be issued by Sunday or Monday. So do what you can to stay safe in the heat by drinking lots of water, taking frequent breaks while working outside and checking your car for kids or pets before you walk away. Also use caution while swimming at the beach this weekend with a high rip current risk and high surf expected for Galveston beach and other area beaches. The weak cold front arrives late Monday into Tuesday that will knock temperatures down a few degrees and bring in slightly lower humidity.
