FOX 26 Houston Weather Forecast
Yesterday's ferocious line of storms produced winds near 100 mph right through downtown Houston. Two EF-1 tornadoes have also been confirmed, 110 mph tornado in Cypress and an EF-1 tornado just SW of Waller. The event is being called a "Derecho" because the intense line of storms stayed together for hundreds of miles producing severe wind gusts around hurricane force. Showers will come to an end tonight. But keep in mind flooding still occurring around the Brazos, Trinity & San Jacinto rivers due to all the recent rain. Our weather pattern this weekend and next week will shift to a hotter and drier one with heat index values climbing to triple digits next week. This will have big impacts on those without power so stay safe! Get the latest updates on storm cleanup, closings and weather where you live by checking out our smart tv app Fox Local!
