Saturday is a FOX 26 Storm Alert Day with the threat for heavy rain and strong storms. Look for showers increasing tonight with rounds of heavy rain likely much of Saturday morning. Houston is in a low threat for street flooding with the higher flood risk east that includes Liberty and Galveston. Overall, expect 1-3" of rain for most with isolated higher totals. It's opening night for Mardi Gras in Galveston with a 50% chance for showers before midnight and widespread rain and storms after midnight. There's also a low 1/5 risk for an isolated strong to severe storm overnight through about 9 AM Saturday. Main risk would be a brief strong wind gust near 60 mph and some hail.
