Showers and storms are on the way for the weekend. But enjoy the last bit of our stretch of quiet weather! Other than a bit of fog early, Thursday should be beautiful with mild temperatures near 70 by the afternoon. Friday starts off dry with showers building back in by evening. Rain increases through the night Friday with a low threat for street flooding returning. Heavy rain and a round of strong storms will be likely Saturday morning with some street flooding possible. Street flooding threat increases Saturday, especially east of Houston around Liberty & Galveston. Those cities have been upgraded to a 15% slight risk for flooding. Showers linger Saturday afternoon, ending Saturday night. That means the second half of the weekend should be dry but breezy. Mardi Gras Galveston events kick off this weekend and the weather could bring some major issues to some of the events.
