FOX 26 Houston Weather Forecast

The weather pattern stays super active over the next week so get ready for more big temperature swings and a lot of rain! A cold front will drop in tonight with very little fanfare. However, colder temperatures will return behind it Friday through Sunday. Lows tonight will dip to near 40 degrees. We should climb to near 50 Friday, Saturday & Sunday with a freeze expected Saturday and Sunday morning. Upper 20s are likely for the Houston area Saturday morning but our northern counties could dip below 24 degrees. So a Hard Freeze Watch is in effect Friday evening through Saturday morning for Walker, San Jacinto, Polk, Washington, Grimes, Montgomery, N. Liberty, Colorado & Austin counties. Remember to dress in layers along with making sure your plants, pets, and pipes are protected. Another big shift in the weather pattern comes next week with much warmer temperatures and several rounds of rain. Some parts of SE Texas could pick up 3 to 6 inches of rain between Monday and Wednesday!
