Firefighters a big step closer to negotiations

The election of John Whitmire to become Houston's next mayor gives the city's firefighters a light at the end of a 7-year-long tunnel of working without a contract. Judge Laura Reeder ordered the city of Houston to do what outgoing Mayor Sylvester Turner has long refused, negotiate in good faith and arrive at a fair deal for each and every year these first responders have been without a contract.
