FOX 26 Wednesday evening weather forecast
This morning, hurricane Idalia made landfall as a strong Category 3 hurricane with 125 mph winds near Keaton Beach, Florida. Idalia is now a tropical storm bringing heavy rain, strong winds and a threat for a few tornadoes to parts of Georgia and the Carolinas. Idalia has helped to push drier air into SE TX meaning much lower humidity and a nice northerly breeze. This has increased our fire danger and a fire weather warning remains in place through 8 PM. Air quality alert has also been extended until Thursday evening. Look for hot and dry days through Friday with more humidity and rain chances returning Friday and sticking around for Labor Day on Monday.
